Premiership season 2 early 2010
In their second season of Premiership football, The Aces had clearly improved even more. This season involved playing each team three times, so it would be a lot tougher and need even more consistency from a team which had often shown inconsistent performances. The omens were good after the Aces were three points clear after their first round of games. After the second round, the Aces were still top but had dropped 2 points of that lead. Going into the final round, it was clear who their main contenders were, with city slickers coming into some form including an 8-0 win against Aces bogey side – Globetrotters! Unhelped by their new signing – England youth player ‘Jack Wilshere’. Coming into the final day, The Aces were two points behind slickers, but with two games to play on the day compared to the Slickers one. It was slickers versus Aces. A win for Aces and it was their league, A win for Slickers, and it was theirs. The game ended in a draw, with both teams calling stalemate. The Aces were still two point behind but with one game left, against the side they had beaten just once before – Globetrotters. The Aces though were going into the game with high confidence. The game finished 6-1. The Aces were champions!
